Build Your Own X-Claim! Collection.

Seller vinylhighwaybrings us an almost complete collection of X-Claim! records for you to try and kick start your own collection with…

DYS is my favorite out of these (SSD’s The Kids Will Have Their Say would be on cover art alone, but that ones not to be found here), but any one of these is worth what you’re probably gonna pay. But I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know…

Buy Low, Sell High?

A few more from Vegas resident lionhearted75, and he must have lost a bundle at the craps tables or something, because he’s got a lot of high ticket items, saddled with high start prices. I figure he’s using the same thought process as with his YDL and Trip 6 demos, and is trying to simply make sure he gets back what he put in (as further evidence of this, the Bertmer print he’s selling initially sold for $75, which is his start price).

I get the logic, yet I can’t stop myself from saying it,… a low start price and a reserve are probably a better gamble.

DYScography

Its no secret that I carry the banner of Boston Hardcore pretty hard. I love NY bands, Detroit bands, DC bands, Cali bands, Texas bands etc, but theres just something about the Boston sound that hooked me right from the start and being so close I got to see more of those bands and it just became MY hardcore. Its also no secret that Slapshot is my favorite band, but I also really love me some DYS!

Wolfpack was the first DYS record I ever had back in 9th or 10th grade and I loved the real hardcore songs like True Till Death and Wolfpack, but I also loved the funny stuff like the Iron Man cover and the Rub-a-Dub song.

Not long after Wolfpack my friend Liam got ahold of ‘the 2nd DYS record’ which seemed questionable just by looking at the band photos on the back. I mean, D. Christian Smalley with a lizard on this shoulder?!

These days if you have any interest at all in hearing the 2nd record you may as well track down a copy of the ‘Fire & Ice’ record. I remember when Taang! put this out because they did some merch that had a cool crossed arms/Xed up fists graphic on it. This is the Dutch version of the LP that Taang! licensed to Roadrunner in the early 90′s.

I actually didnt really find out about the Brotherhood record until I started collecting hardcore records. I don’t have a copy of it, but it is on my list of things that I hope to get in the future!

Last but not least here is a funny little bonus item. Jonathan Anastis had these printed up for the ‘Gallery East Reunion Show’ on August 14th of this year. I HOPE that Jonathan had them printed up because he thought it was funny, but its possible that he just took it a little to seriously. Theres also a lot of irony in the fact that its got Straight Edge imagery on both sides and to the best of my knowledge the 2010 version of DYS didnt have one straight edge guy in the band. Oh… how the mighty have fallen!

best offers on XClaim full catalog… almost!

I’m not sure if alohacb is an old Boston guy or just someone thats selling off pieces of a good record collection, but here is your chance to pick up ALMOST an entire XClaim Records discography! Theres no test presses here, we’re talking just standard releases, but speaking as a person that has none of these, I think its pretty impressive.

Some of the BIN prices are high, but all 5 of them have a ‘Best Offer’ option shoot him an offer on all 5 and maybe you can score a super deal! Then the only thing you will need to do is find XClaim #5 The F.U.’s ‘My America’ which would be my least favorite of the 6 releases anyway!

Help Jerry’s Kids

Heres a couple more from The Taang! Store.

I figured that since this past weekend was the Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon it was fitting to post a couple of Jerry’s Kids records. Jerry’s Kids (the band) was actually scheduled to play as part of the Punks for a Princess benefit this past weekend but had to cancel due to injuries sustained during their set at the Gallery East Reunion show the week before. A totally amazing & legendary band that still kicks ass today!!

TRUE TILL DEATH

recordology has a bunch of hi-end records up including some test presses. A nice collection for sure.

I already mentioned that (like most hardcore fans in the north east) I was at the Gallery East Reunion show last Sunday. When it was first announced I was SUPER psyched, but then I saw the rehearsal footage of DYS and I was really worried that they were gonna suck. I got there really early and saw their sound check and I was convinced they were gonna suck. It was a really long day but there was enough cool stuff that even if DYS sucked it would have been a good day. Springa did ‘Boiling Point’ with Refuse Resist. Slapshot played an almost flawless set. GangGreen was awesome and Jerry’s Kids was unreal!! But even with all that while DYS was setting up I was hoping they wouldn’t suck and even though I know they were not the same DYS from 1982, they were good! The songs from Brotherhood sounded good and a few of the ones from the 2nd record were okay too. I got sucked into buying some merch and I actually stage dove during Wolfpack…. it was a good day.

I saw a guy walking around with a copy of this record that he had signed by Jonathan Anastas, Dave Smalley and Dicky Barret which I thought was pretty cool! I still don’t own this LP, but someday I hope to have all of the XClaim releases…. and this is my favorite.

Superbly Signed Decontrol

Another amazing record straight from the SSD Vaults! This one is not just a sleeve like the ‘Kids will have their say’ he posted up either!

This is a 100% legit copy of XClaim Records #3, SSD ‘Get It Away’ and its been signed by the whole band. I know its not a test press or anything like that, but I think thats pretty damn cool!!

I wonder how many of these guys will be at the ‘Gallery East Reunion’ show next month? I imagine there will be many familiar faces in that crowd!

Signed Sleeve/No LP or Unsigned Sleeve/With LP

A member of SSD is selling an unused sleeve for ‘The Kids Will Have Their Say’ LP. Its left over from the original run they did of 2000 sleeves, but they only pressed 1000 LPs and never did a second press so there were a bunch of sleeves left.

He had a few of these in his basement since the LP was released and when ‘the band got back together’ for the American Hardcore premier he brought them along and had the other 3 guys sign them. He said this is the first thing he remembers the entire band signing. How awesome is that!? I now theres no LP in it, but damn thats cool and would look awesome framed!!

Perhaps you dont care about the autographs and the empty sleeve just does nothing for you, then check out colleenpingree who was not a member of SSD, but is selling a complete ‘Kids Will Have Their Say’ LP.
