Youth of Today – We’re Not In This Alone Funhouse

Hey everybody, meet maxcottica or as he likes to be called, Max.

Max is a friendly ebay seller from Ireland, and as he states in his auction descriptions, “He’s a metalhead just like you.”
Max is going to be selling 1000 metal records in the future, and I guess one hardcore one. I have to say, if you are only going to be selling one hardcore record you might as well make it a good one!

Between his Manowar and Blood Feast albums, you can pick up Youth of Today – We’re Not In This Alone European press on Funhouse Records. It’s on yellow vinyl as well making this a damn fine pick up for all you YOT/youth crew collectors. This could have gone under the radar, if you know, it wasn’t posted here.

Myself? I have my eye on that Wargasm album he’s selling. Tight.

TPT: Drunk at the youth of today reunion

Well this is the second test pressing that stab_and_kill has put up in the past 24 hours. This is not only a test press, but also features a limited edition cover, and hand numbered #11. This record came out towards the end of the Slumlords era, but featured the very popular song “Drunk at the Youth of Today reunion”

We all love a good YOT reunion.

X Swatch – Tick tock tick tock – Has the edge gone dull?

West coast seller 90feetofperfectionx brings us a different kind of ‘vinyl’ noize than we are used to seeing here. Is the band on this considered vinyl? These things are pretty timeless, like a good edge man, and are always pretty well sought after. I would love to grab one, but I’ve always kinda been of the opinion that if one isn’t handed down to me, then it’s not my time. I have the same opinion of varsity jackets.

THE TIME IS NOW

I need your…Shelter!

I keep hearing from people (mostly girls actually!) that Shelter was the band that got them into hardcore, punk, straight edge, vegetarianism, was their gateway band that changed their lives, etc. I’ve never heard Shelter in high school (the punk rock formative years) and when I finally did they were always the post-Youth Of Today band for me and not much else. I don’t think Shelter will ever top or even equal YOT on any level in my mind and I think that’s healthy. That said I don’t hate Shelter, and I’m open to hearing some more of their better records, but I’m not exactly hunting for them. The early stuff is the best it seems, the later pop-punk stuff blows. Here’s something from the earlier catalog, on EVR, at $10 with free shipping, I think this is the first two 7″s on a 12″. Did this also come out on Revelation on CD? Shelter’s still hazy for me I guess.

This should be Revelation number 1

…because it’s the best record they ever did! Justin from Indecision sure gives us a true banger here. The almighty Ray and Porcell 7″ on purple vinyl. I had to retouch the photo a little, since it was so dark you couldn’t make out it’s sweet rich tones. There are only 1000 of this on purple, which is crazy, there should be a million, because this is so good!!! I mean, think about it… This record never let you down. There were those really sad Youth Of Today reunions, and have you heard the last… I dunno… five Shelter records? But this record has never done anything to soil it’s reputation. For real, it’s 1990 or whatever year this came out, and you’re Ray and Porcell. You think you need a fucking drummer to slow you down? Hell no.

I literally quoted “Broken Glass” to a friend last night. Awesome song.

BDTW Posi Numbers pressing

I feel like this one flies under alot of peoples radars.
I can remember being at Posi Numbers 2002 and seeing these getting sold out of the back of a car by the entrance and thinking it was pretty weird. I still think this is a pretty weird record. The odd felt cover, the fact it was sold out of the back of a car, there being 60 sold randomly at a fest the band wasnt on?
The design has since resurfaced on a modern day YOT shirt and i dont like it. I dont mind it on here though. I dont know if straightray got his at the gig or not but this is your chance to take a stand and bid.

YOUTH OF TODAY Cant Close My Eyes first press

Another classic from straightray. Every song on here is a hit. You know when you open a record with Expectations that youre in for a good time.

When reissues look terrible – the Youth of Today story

Never really felt these Youth of Today reissues looked good at all. Still don’t. Bad artwork sometimes stands the bad test of time, and in 2011, this is still bad. It’s that whole, “If it ain’t broke” deal. Can’t Close My Eyes was a classic. Kyle states in the auction the fact that this artwork is now out of print. Thank god! This yellow vinyl copy is from the 2005 pressing, and out of 335 copies, which makes it pretty rare.

YOUTH OF TODAY Test Press Trio

Title got you excited? Well prepare to be let down.

Kyle Rivalry is selling test pressings of all three YOT 12″s. Unfortunately they’re the Euro pressings on We Bite. Now don’t get me wrong! A Youth Of Today test pressing is awesome no matter what version it is, but you can’t compare a We Bite test to a Wishingwell test.
These things seem to either be a dime a dozen or theres only a few of them and whoever buys them sells them again within a month of getting them because I swear they’re on ebay non stop.

The colorway on the cover of WNITA i think actually looks cooler than the US press.

Title Fight LP record release

Panera spokesman bread_bowl is selling a very awesome copy of one of the best records of 2011. For the record release for Title Fight’s “Shed”, the band screened 70 limited covers and wrote the name of every person who bought the record on the cover. Probably to deter flippers. Im not sure if they know Trash Talk beat them to the idea but hey its a good idea none the less. This particular copy does NOT have any name written on it, perfect for selling. Which is fine because the guy selling it is the guy who put on the show. The same show was War Hungry’s LP release show and the show where we re-shot the cover photos for the War Hungry/Cold World split.
This thing is pretty hefty with 4 days left so i cant wait to see where it goes.

Youth of Today – Rev BDTW Blue/Yellow Labels

makeachange88 has got a great username to be selling this Youth of Today – Break Down the Walls. I posted a *minty* copy of We’re Not in This Alone the other day, so I decided to post the first press copy of the Revelation Break Down the Walls. Out of the two LP’s I definitely prefer this release over WNITA, just hit, after hit, after hit…You can tell that this is a first press of the lp because of the blue and yellow labels and that the Matrix says “Nancy loves Walter and Mike.” Seller makeachange88 has a pretty crucial shirt that I’m sure will be posted on TTD soon, so check out this auction and that tee and his other auctions.

A *minty* Youth of Today We’re Not In This Alone

recordoutlet.com is coming at ya with a “minty” copy of the Youth of Today – We’re Not In This Alone LP. I’ve heard of mint, but never a *minty* copy of a record. I might have to check out some more info about *minty* YOT records. The seller states that it comes with a poster, but it’s only the copy of the insert and NOT that huge ill ass promo poster that Caroline made. There’s a little bit of ring wear and edge/corner wear. Two days left on this auction, check it out.

Your Expectations are too much

Since YOT has been playing shows again on the semi-reg, maybe handsomephantom can cash in on this second pressing of Can’t Close My Eyes. I can see from the picture it looks like someone had a little fun ala Cro Mags with the lyric sheet. Maybe it was Porcell or Ray? Euros take note, its a personalized copy!

If it were Thursday, I would call it Together Thursday

…and that would just sound stupid, so I am glad it’s Wednesday.  Got another one here from Good Ole Gern. Revelation Records number two, the Together comp. 7 inches of classic NYHC with Sick Of It All, Supertouch, Side By Side…and some other bands. Boom. Where “it” all started (after that Warzone 7″ of course…)  Looks like I will have to refer back to the supposed Holy Grail of Rev collecting, the rev.txt doc. White inserts, look like the cover is one piece, can’t really tell, but the inserts don’t look like “obvious photocopies” so I guess this is a first press? Sounds good to me. Have at it kiddies!!!

Cappo on color

Ever wanted to take a journey through the early musical career of Ray Cappo in brilliant technicolor vinyl?
orangerory can help you out right now! Starting with the Rev repress of Can’t Close My Eyes on green.

Next is the “final” press of Break Down The Walls. I guess it wasnt so final. But it is on white vinyl.

And heres the 90s repress of WNITA on maroon which im pretty sure Rev tried to secretly press more of on colored vinyl and not tell anyone.

Up next is Rays buddy flick, the Ray and Porcell 7″. This was always a laughing stock (much like Old Smoke) when I was growing up but somehow now its cool. Ok sure why not.

And finally the record which made Krishnacore less sketchy, Shelters breakthrough debut Perfection Of Desire on maroon.
